Dharamsala Nayagraon Trek
The Dharamsala - Nayagraon Trek takes us through an enchanting part of the Indian Himalayas and is often referred to as the magical showcase of nature’s splendours. Verdant green meadows and wide valleys set against imposing snow clad mountains; limpid lakes, torrential rivers and gushing streams; fruit laden orchards and gentle terraces of corn and tea.

Day 1 (New Delhi to Dharamsala):
Arrive Delhi. Meet our representative. Drive overnight to Dharamshala and check in hotel at Mcleodganj.
Day 2 (Dharamsala):
On second day of Dharamsala - Nayagraon Trek, we Explore in and around Dharamshala / Mcleodganj which is now home to a large Tibetan community in exile. We visit His Holiness Monastery, St. Joha’s Church in wilderness, Dal Lake, Bhagsu Shiva temple and waterfall. Overnight in Dharamsala.
Day 3 (Dharamsala - Bir):
We drive to Bir by jeep, about 64 kms, from Dharamsala. Sightseeing in Bir including monasteries. Overnight in Bir.
Day 4 (Bir - Billing):
On fourth day of Dharamsala - Nayagraon Trek, we reach Billing. The trek goes to the North of Billing along a spur above the Uhi river with an easy 2 hour trail to Rajgaunda. Overnight in Billing.
The twin villages of Bir and Billing are excellent hang gliding and para-gliding grounds and are famous for their Buddhist Monasteries and Tibetan handicrafts. The Kangra Tea Factory is your best bet for picking up genuine tea and for seeing the entire procedure of plucking, picking and processing tealeaves.
Day 5 (Billing - Palachak, 2770 M):
Next destination of trek is Palachak, we walk along the river and through the woods to the tiny settlement of Palachak through Thamsar Jot and further to Barabhangal is a mule track, the Pass is comparatively higher than other passes of Dhauladhar but it is most frequented and well marked and generally used by the people of Baijnath and Barabhangal for want of any transport facility. Overnight in camp.
Day 6 (Palachak - Panihardu, 3693 M):
We trek 9 km, about 3 hours, to reach Panihardu over some Meadows and snow fields during May and June. There is steep climb at places. During summer season tea stalls are put up by the local people.
Day 7 (Panihardu - Marhu, 3690 M):
A tough trek of 17 km, we start early to avoid mid-day winds and bad weather. The trek is arduous being steep. There is a small glacial lake a little below the Pass, after about 4 hours strenuous climb one reaches Marhu which has a flat land. This is an ideal place for camp. Overnight in Marhu.
Day 8 (Marhu - Dhardi, 2550 M):
On the 8th day, we undertake another long trek which descends steeply over rock cliffs. Many steep ridges have to be negotiated before reaching Khaner village, it takes about 3 hours to reach Dhardi village. There is one short tricky rock face about 200 ft. above the river, the rest of the trek is normal.
Day 9 (Dhardi - Nayagraon, 2245 M):
Dharamsala - Nayagraon Trek continues with a descent (14 km) along the river at an easy pace and after three hours arrival at a Dhaba (small resturant). The trek leads down toward a steel cable bridge on the south bank one Kilometer above Nayagraon where there is a rest house, Dhardi is being connected by a jeepable road from Nayagraon to facilitate the people of Dhardi and Khaner to reach Barabhangal comfortably. Overnight in camp.
Day 10 (Nayagraon - Deol, 2020 M):
We drive to Deol. From Deol we move further to reach Chamba. Overnight in Chamba.
Day 11 (Chamba - Pathankot - New Delhi):
We drive to Pathankot from Chamba via Dalhousie. Then we catch an overnight train from Pathankot to reach New Delhi. Depart New Delhi. Transfer to airport for flight to onwards journey. Manali - Chamba - Sach Pass Trek concludes.
