Sonmarg To Wangat Trek
This is a long and tiring trek, which covers a distance of almost 81 kms. The trek starts at Sonamarg, which is connected by bus from Srinagar and then climbs to Nichinar where it crosses a mountain chain and heads to a beautiful and isolated campsite called Krishansar. Day 3 to 4 sees through crossing another high pass at almost 4191 Mts. to reach the Gangabal Lake. From here it is a steep descent to Wargat from where a bus is available back to Srinagar.
Itinerary (Sonmarg Wangat Trek):
Day 1 (15 KM):
Sonamarg to Nichinai.
Day 2 (13 KM):
Nichinai to Krishansar.
Day 3 (17 KM):
Krishansar to Dubta Pani.
Day 4 (17 KM):
Dubta Pani to Gangabal lake.
Day 5 (19 KM):
Gangabal lake to Wangat.
