Vasco Da Gama is the largest town in Goa with a population of over 100000 in 2005. Lying on the western edge of the Mormugao Peninsula , Vasco Da Gama is just 30km from Panaji.Vasco Da Gama is named after the Portuguese explorer and it was in the hands of the Portuguese from 1543 . It was one of the busiest ports on the west coast of India. Still it continues to be a busy harbor with container vessels and hoys containing iron ore arriving here in large numbers.

• Pilot Point at Headland Sada , this place provides a breathtaking view of the port as well as the Zuari river meeting the Arabian Sea.

• Baina Beach considered as one of the safest beach in Goa, is just a walk away from the city.
• Bogmalo Beach : This was earlier a fishing village but now it has gradually transformed in to a tourist hotspot. The sun kissed sandy beach , along with the sparkling white Chapel and the red brick cottages hold their own charm. • The Naval Aviation Museum : This has the honor of being the first naval museum in Asia . It was opened to the public in 1998.You will find here depiction of the history of Indian Naval Aviation. Also among other things you will see here weapons, sensors, safety equipments, rare photographs etc. The added feature of this museum it is situated in the picturesque surroundings of the Bogmalo beach .
