Kumbhalgarh Fort

algarh Fort is located at a distance of 84 km away from Udaipur and qualifies as an important example of defensive architecture in Rajasthan.
It was built in the 15th century by Rana Kumbha and is the second most important fort in the state after the historic Chittorgarh Fort.

The Kumbalgarh Fort is encircled by a 36 km long wall and boasts of seven majestic gates and ramparts one within the other.
The Hanuman Pol, Bhairava Pol, Hulla Pol and the Paghra Pol are some of the massive gates that adorn the Kumbalgarh Fort.
Besides, a number of monuments lay scattered all over the Kumbalgarh Fort that also include the 15th century dilapidated palace built by Rana Kumbha.
An old temple located nearby is another interesting site offered by the Kumbalgarh Fort.
The fort also houses some other palaces that serve as good sites to explore.
The Kumbalgarh Fort was built with great care so as to withstand every type of enemy attack.
However, the fort fell to Mughal Emperor Akbar before being re-conquered by Maharana Pratap, one of the greatest kings to have ruled in Rajasthan.
