Taragarh Fort
Located at a distance of around 39 km off Kota, Taragarh Fort was the home of a major princely state at the height of the Rajput heydays.It is a massive fort built in the year 1354 and accessible by a steep pitched road leading to its main gateway. Rampant elephants top the gateway of the Taragarh Fort.

Mehargarh Fort
Seven gates have to be crossed to reach the fort. The gates still bear the marks of the various battles fought in the bygone era. Its second gate still stands witness to canon ball hits by attacking armies of Jaipur during wars. One of the gates is Jayapol, meaning victory.

Amber Fort

Jaigarh Fort

Kumbalgarh Fort 
The magnificent Kumbalgarh Fort is located at a distance of 84 km away from Udaipur and qualifies as an important example of defensive architecture in Rajasthan.It was built in the 15th century by Rana Kumbha and is the second most important fort in the state after the historic Chittorgarh Fort.

Famous Palaces in Rajasthan
City Palace Jaipur
The city palace was built by Raja Sawai Jai Singh and the royal family still uses a section of the palace. The exquisite 19th century Mubarak Mahal or The Palace of Reception which used to serve as the reception area of royal guests was built by Madho Singh and is now converted into museum which show cases a bewildering array of royal costumes of the charismatic prince Sawai Madho Singh. Apart from the royal costumes, on display at the museum are some intriguing 15th century royal armory that have been very well preserved.

Jagmandir Palace
This is the other island palace in Lake Pichola, which was constructed by Maharana Karan Singh as a hideout for Prince Khurram the estranged son of Emperor Jehangir the implacable foe of the Maharana. The reason for the aid was that the prince was the son of a Rajput mother. It is also said that Shah Jahan [prince Khurram] derived some of these ideas for the Taj Mahal from this palace when he stayed there in 1623-24.
